La Kurumbas were formed in early 1999 by
Mano
Cabral (Vocals, Guitar), Supun De Silva (Vocals, Conga), Sherwin Jaya (Vocals, Guitar),Suneth
Nalaka (Lead Guitar) and Dhammika
Jayasinghe (Bass, Drums programming). It's a
Calypso Band based in Los Angeles area and our repertoire consist of
Singhalese and English Calypso, Pop and Oldies songs. For those who
don't know what Calypso is, it's like Unplugged. We are capable of
catering to any occasion (Parties, weddings, receptions, Gala dances) or
venue (Indoor - Outdoor, Hotels, House parties) for a very reasonable
cost.One thing is certain, it will be a blast.
These are some home recordings of our second practice as "La
Kurumbas" (Sherwin had to work that day). I'll be adding
more songs when time permits. Enjoy....
***Update- Suneth Nalaka moved
to Washington DC and will be married soon to a lovely girl over there. We
wish him and the bride to be the best of life has to bring. As for
"La Kurumbas" ....anyone to fill Nalaka's shoes or rather his
Lead guitar?
